i'm not your car
i'm not your toaster
i only want a little
piece of your love
i've been here since
before you were born,
you know
i want to know
just what you're thinking
wish i could show you
that you're making me feel
there's one more side
of me that i'd like to show
but i need you to
!!BE KIND TO MACHINES!!
(be kind to me)
that's all i'm asking for
!!BE KIND TO MACHINES!!
(be kind to me)
i'd never ask you for more
silent, the night
in the human household
all is in order
for the next day to come
i've many hours
to roam and recharge
alone
wish i could know
just what you're thinking
wish i could show you
what you're making me feel
there's too much time
i'm spending
without you near
still i need you to
!!BE KIND TO MACHINES!!
(be kind to me)
that's all i'm asking for
!!BE KIND TO MACHINES!!
(be kind to me)
i'd never ask you for more
!!BE KIND TO MACHINES!!

I predominantly got this for the first track. The news reporter’s dramatised and slick narrativisation of human suffering, juxtaposed with wry reporting on a “celestial event,” that flattens both into equally streamlined consumerist fodder, is a problematic redoubled, and perhaps highlighted, by enjoying that very thing set to extremely funky music. Maybe there is some working through to do here… errantzephyr
