lyrics

Maika:

As the years pass as they should
Seems like only yesterday that I stood
By a man whose eyes
Were turned up to the sun
Though I never asked his name
Every day he was there just the same
Waiting for someone
Who never seemed to come

((A Woman remembers a man she met
When she volunteered at a hospital.
They did not know each other's names
But they spoke sometimes.
The man always seemed sad,
And it seemed like he was waiting for someone.))

I wonder why I couldnft see before
And notice he wasnft there anymore
Until I found the message
Hanging from my door
As I read I didn't make a sound
eTil it slipped from my hands and fluttered down
Suddenly my knees grew weak
And I fell to the ground

((The woman wonders why she did not notice
That one day the man was no longer at the hospital.
But, one day she finds a letter that has been lift
By her door that is from the man.
She begins to read the letter, but drops it
Because the message on the letter is very sad
And she starts crying.))

That's when my tears fell on the letter
I could hear his voice so clear
Within my mind again
And I know that now
His love would live forever
Cause his heart was beating there
Inside the words he left behind

((The woman says that her tears fell onto
The letter on the ground.
And she says she can remember the man's voice
She thinks about the words the man wrote
And even though the man has died,
She knows that she will always remember
His message, and how he loved her.))

In the days that followed on
And moments searching
Where he had gone
Everything was like a blur
Until I learned

((The woman says that, after she found the letter
She tried to find out what had happened
To the man after he died.
She says that everything was very confusing
And she does not remember all of the searching
But that she can remember when she found out
Where the man had been buried.))

And although I was afraid to see
The truth was staring right in front of me
Somehow I knew that this was
What was meant to be
And as I walked I didn't make a sound
Even as my gaze was looking down
Suddenly my knees grew weak
And I fell to the ground

((She says she was afraid at first to go
To visit the grave, because she knows
It will be very sad.
But she knows that she MUST go to the grave
To say goodbye.
She looks for the grave,
And when she finds it, she falls beside the grave
And she begins to cry again.))

That's when I tears fell on the marker
As I touched the name
I hadn't seen before etil then
And I promised that
One day we'd be together
Somewhere far away
Where I'd stand by his side again

((The woman says that at that moment
Her tears fell onto the grave
And she touched the name on the grave.
She did not know the man's name until
She saw the grave.
She then promises the man that one day
When she goes to heaven, she will
Be by his side again, and they can be together.
She regrets that she did not know
That the man loved her.))

And as my tears fall on the letter
I can hear your voice so clear
Within my mind once more
And I know that now
My love will live forever
For a heart thatfs beating there
Inside the words
You left behind

((The woman repeats her feelings again
And says that she will love the man,
And honor his memory her whole life.))

Kaito:

If you find
This message that I left behind
Youfll know that time has pulled me away from you
And though I donft know who you are
And I am far away
I love you all the same
Even though you will never know my name

((The man's voice begins to sing
The words that were in his letter
Saying how he loved the woman, even
Though they were strangers.))
